Around 00:49, residents of the city heard the first explosions, then they were repeated at 01:22, 01:40, 01:52 and 02:15. The air alert lasted for almost 5 hours and ended at 4:48.
Finnaly Serhii Popko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration reported, that Ukraine’s air defense forces downed all kamikaze drones launched at Kyiv.

"The enemy once again attacked the capital of Ukraine from the air. The third barrage in the last six days! This time Kyiv was attacked by drones only. According to tentative reports, the russicts, as usual, employed Iranian-made Shahed UAVs. The enemy tactics remain traditional and unchanged – with the onset of the dark, the terrorist state launched the barrage from various areas," official wrote on Telegram.
The air alert in Zaporizhzhia region began at 1:24 a.m., but at 10:33 p.m. on May 2, local media began reporting the launch of Iranian drones and their approach to the city, as well as the fact that the Defense Forces began shooting them down. In addition, it was reported about the launch of enemy S-300 towards the regional center – Zaporizhzhia city.
It became known about the explosions in Zaporizhzhia at 01:25. The air alert in the region lasted until 03:54.
The alarm sounded at 3:57. Local telegram channels reported the impact of S-300 missiles. There are no details at this time.
In Dnipropetrovsk region, an air alert was announced at 0:56, and within a minute it became known that enemy "shahedis" were flying towards the region.
At 1:42 a.m. local media reported on Iranian drones directly over the Dnipro. Later, in social networks, residents began to report that they heard explosions - the result of the downing of drones.The air raid alarm sounded in the Dnipropetrovsk region at 3:53 a.m.
The air alert in the Cherkasy region was announced at 1:58 a.m. and lasted until 4:28 a.m. Around 2 a.m., messages about enemy drones over Cherkasy region appeared in the Cherkasy telegram channels, and around 3 a.m., information about explosions in the region arrived. There are no official comments from the authorities regarding the explosions in Cherkasy region yet.
In their official statement Ukraine's Air Force reported shooting down 21 out of 26 Iranian-made Shahed ‘kamikaze’ drones Russia launched at Ukraine overnight on May 3.
According to the statement, the drones were launched from the north in Russia's western Bryansk Oblast and from the south on the eastern coast of the Azov Sea, the Air Force said.
No information about the drones that were not intercepted or what, if anything they hit, has not yet been made available by Ukrainian authorities as of 8:00 a.m. Kyiv time.
