In total, Kyiv faced six massive and 14 combined airstrikes throughout the year

In 2024, Kyiv endured 500 air alerts, during which russian forces carried out nearly 200 airstrikes on Ukraine's capital, according to Serhii Popko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.

Throughout the year, russian troops launched over 1,600 types of munitions against peaceful Kyiv, including:

  • Over 1,300 UAVs;
  • More than 200 cruise missiles (Kh-101, Kh-59, Kh-69, Iskander-K, Kalibr);
  • 24 ballistic missiles (Iskander-M, KN-23);
  • 22 aeroballistic missiles (Kinzhal);
  • 7 hypersonic missiles (Zircon).

Popko highlighted the most massive attack on Kyiv, a combined strike, during which the enemy simultaneously launched 78 munitions, including 49 Kh-101 missiles and 10 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles.

In total, Kyiv faced six massive and 14 combined airstrikes throughout the year.

These relentless attacks caused significant destruction: nearly 550 residential buildings were damaged, leaving approximately 120 people homeless.

For almost 100 days, Kyiv residents experienced emergency or scheduled power outages. On average, the capital’s citizens endured about nine hours of electricity loss per day.
