Ukraine has ordered eight units in total, and some of them are already fighting against the russians

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have already received the seventh Zuzana 2 self-propelled artillery system from Slovakia, announced Jaro Nad, the Slovakian Minister of Defense on his Twitter.

"Glad to confirm that already 7th Zuzana 2 howitzer was delivered to Ukrainian armed forces and is ready to protect innocent lives," he wrote.

We should note that Slovakia had to put its own armed forces out in order to supply all these howitzers to Ukraine as soon as possible, giving priority to the Ukrainian Army over the Slovakian.

As a reminder, the contract between the two countries was signed in early June, and the first four units were handed to Ukraine on August 13, i.e. two and a half month to supply four artillery systems.

Then, another three howitzers in three months, which added to the time for adjustment and training for the crews make five and a half months. By this time, according to open sources, one of them has been destroyed already.

Though this is not the only contract for Zuzana 2 that adds to the Ukrainian forces. In October, Denmark, Germany and Norway signed a joint procurement deal for 16 more. These systems will start arriving in Ukraine in 2023.

And here’s a brief overview of the capabilities of this system which made it so popular. Being one of the seven 155mm artillery systems wielded by the Ukrainian army along with German PzH 2000 and Polish AHS Krab, the Zuzana 2 is a relatively "young" weapon adopted in 2009. It has a firing range of 40 km and a firing rate of 2 to 5 shots per minute in the MRSI mode, in which the rounds are fired in different trajectories and strike the target simultaneously.
