On the night of Friday, March 7, russian occupation forces carried out another massive terrorist missile attack on Ukraine. According to the Ukrainian Air Force Command, a total of 67 missiles were detected during the attack, including over half Kh-101/Kh-55SM missiles, as well as Kalibr cruise missiles, Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, S-300 anti-aircraft missiles, and Kh-59/69 aircraft missiles, along with 194 attack and decoy drones.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Air Force noted that French Mirage 2000-5 aircraft also took part in repelling the enemy drone attack. This is the first time since the aircraft were delivered to Ukraine.

Later, the Ukrainian Air Force released historic photos from a Ukrainian pilot showing French Mirage 2000-5 fighters shooting down one of russia's Kh-101 cruise missiles. The fact that the air-to-air missile was launched at a 90-degree angle is noteworthy.
Regarding the type of missile that shot down the enemy Kh-101, Defense Express previously provided a detailed description of the missiles and bombs the Mirage 2000-5 can use.
Speaking of air-to-air missiles that Ukrainian Mirage pilots could use to shoot down a russian Kh-101, options include the MICA with an 80 km range, the Super 530D, which can destroy targets up to 40 km away, and the R550 Magic 2 with a range of up to 20 km.
The most common and versatile of them is MICA, which can be launched from all suspension points (except the center one), while the other two have restrictions.
It should be recalled that in early February, French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu officially announced that Ukraine had received the first Mirage 2000-5 aircraft.
