The blasts erupted in the parking lot near military unit 6912, where two explosive devices detonated as soldiers were arriving for duty, causing casualties.

Following the explosions, russian security services restricted mobile internet and altered public transport routes to prevent local residents from learning about the attack.

The 748th Separate Operational Purpose Battalion of the russian National Guard is stationed at the base. This unit took part in russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine, suffering losses during battles near Kyiv, including in Bucha and Irpin, in early 2022.
