The European Union has agreed on establishing a Military Assistance Mission (EUMAM ) in response to Ukraine’s requests, as announced in a statement from the EU Council published October 17.
The training will include three standard components, which we have already seen in the other similar projects before and after the russian invasion: Ukrainian military personnel will receive individual, collective (up to brigade level) and specialized training.

Other major training programs for the Ukrainian military, such as Canadian UNIFIER ongoing since 2015 or the British-led training INTERFLEX , did not specify whether the TrO participated in those but most likely they did not, as many of those soldiers were civilian people with little to no military training before February 2022.
The training was mostly provided for airborne and mechanized forces, as well as several minor courses for the commanding staff and operators for new weapons (HIMARS, StarStreak, Harpoon, PzH 2000 etc.) organized by various countries in Europe.
The new training mission established by the European Union "will initially last two years", the budget allocated for that purpose amounts to EUR 106.7 million.
And here’s another important point: the EUMAM Ukraine will also be a center for coordination and synchronization of member states’ activities supporting the delivery of training.
For example, the previously mentioned program aimed to train in the United Kingdom more than 10,000 troops by around the end of October started as the initiative of Brits alone but later expanded, involving instructors from Canada, New Zealand and multiple European states. A "breakthrough" was achieved at the Copenhagen Conference this August, with Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Norway joining the initiative.
Thus, the new EUMAM Ukraine will play a role of coordination center right away, with no need for additional meetings of the participating states:
"The mission will ensure coordination with member states’ bilateral activities in support of Ukraine, as well as with other like-minded international partners, and will be open to participation of third states," as explained in the EU Council’s announcement.
