Despite Ukrainian forces carrying out active offensive operations against russians, both the process and results find almost zero reflection in official statements. This approach completely aligns with what the Ukrainian needs, says Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Maliar.
She stressed that the information regarding counteroffensive activities is very sensitive and is also a part of the whole operation with its own military objectives to achieve. Directing information flow is done in close cooperation with the Commander-in-Chief of the AFU and specialists on information security of the General Staff, anything is shared with the public only after consultations with them. The key factor is whether sharing conforms to the aims of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As for what civilians are allowed and should know, she pinpointed, verbatim:
- That everything is well-coordinated on our end [in the Armed Forces of Ukraine - ed.] and under our control
- Everything we make public is needed for our military to work with
- We are well aware of what the enemy [i.e. the russians] is throwing into the mass media and always react on short notice if this is in the interests of the AFU and the victory
- We only give as much information as needed right now in the interests of the defense forces
- We don't conceal our victories or facts about liberated territories from you
- We have a strong professional team.
On a side note, today's daily update from the General Staff mentioned that as of this morning, on June 10, russian forces attempted an unsuccessful offensive advance in several directions in Ukraine's east. At the same time, Ukrainian forces managed to push the russians 1,400 m back in the Bakhmut operational direction, according to the spokesperson of the Eastern group of forces. In the south, russians are on defense.
