Ukraine's 15th Brigade has destroyed russian S-300 transport-loader vehicle carrying anti-aircraft missiles, with the missiles detonating after the strike

Ukraine's 15th Brigade has destroyed russian transport-loader vehicle belonging to the S-300 air defense system.

The unit stated its personnel detected the vehicle during a reconnaissance operation and subsequently launched a strike against it. The target was identified as a transport-loader vehicle used to carry and load missiles for the S-300 system.

According to the brigade, the vehicle was loaded with anti-aircraft guided missiles when it was hit. The presence of the missiles significantly increased the consequences of the strike, as they detonated after the initial impact.

Footage released by the brigade shows the targeted vehicle being engulfed in a powerful explosion and subsequently burning. The brigade said the transport-loader was completely destroyed in the resulting fire.

Transport-loader vehicles are an important component of the S-300 system, as they are used to transport and reload missiles for launchers. Destroying such support equipment can therefore reduce the ability of an air defense unit to sustain its operations, even when launchers themselves remain intact.

As Defense Express previously reported, Ukraine's Pelican radar can detect and track aerial targets at distances of up to 400 kilometers, giving air defense units and combat aviation additional time to respond to incoming threats.
