The United States announced another military aid package for Ukraine worth 1.1 billion dollars, which was allocated within the framework of the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI).
According to the package announced on September 28, the Armed Forces of Ukraine should receive:

- 18 HIMARS;
- 150 off-road HMMWVs;
- 150 towing trucks;
- 40 trucks and 80 trailers for transporting heavy equipment;
- 20 multi-purpose radars;
- 2 UAV detection radars;
- anti-UAV systems;
- secure communication systems, surveillance systems, body armor and other ammunition, as well as weapons training, maintenance and support services.
The official representative of the Pentagon stated that the procurement and delivery of these HIMARS systems and associated munitions will take several years.
According to USAI, the US government orders weapons for Ukraine directly from manufacturers. Unlike direct transfer from the US Department of Defense stockpiles, this process requires the manufacture of weapons. That is, weapons transfer does not take place within "several weeks".
As emphasized in Washington, the long-term procedure for the purchase and transfer of HIMARS to Ukraine does not mean that additional HIMARS from the US warehouses will not be transferred in case of need.
According to the Pentagon representative, the Armed Force of Ukraine now operate 16 HIMARS and 10 M270, which with the transfer of additional 18 HIMARS will bring the number to 44 units overall.
Thus, the same approach is absolutely true for all other positions of the aid package. Of course, some of them will be accomplished sooner, such as motor vehicles. Defense Express notes that Germany also allocates military aid of 90 heavy trucks with platforms for Ukraine.
These measures may be evidence of a shift in the supply of heavy armored vehicles weighing more than 60 tons to Ukraine. Because the Armed Forces of Ukraine may not have enough trawlers designed for such characteristics, taking into account the fact that the weight of all available tanks in Ukraine (except for a few units of Oplot) does not exceed 50 tons.
