The plan was created on a basis of experience gained throughout the past six months of war, and seeks to end it with the help of high-tech

At the request of the Commander-in-Chief, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Concern "Ukroboronprom" comprising the entirety of defense industry of Ukraine, have jointly developed a program seeking to improve the unmanned technology industrial sector.

As follows from the statement, the amount of data collected during the last six months of invasion and overall eight years of war with its extensive use of drones and anti-drone means contributed to this plan:

"Specialists involved in this project have systematized knowledge about the combat use of drones, their role on the battlefield, worked out issues about the types of equipment, their tactical and technical characteristics, as well as the required ammunition, etc. During the work, foreign studies and combat experience of Ukrainian pilots were taken into account."

The authors of the program have already presented it to Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi and hope it will help to bring the war to the end.

"This project is designed to help as well private producers, many of whom are currently working for the benefit of the Defense Forces. For this purpose, we gathered their representatives, talked about their needs, about possible help, about scaling, and about efficiency and safety of production," said Ukroboronprom project manager Oleh Boldyriev.

At the same time, on August 26, on the basis of Ukroboronprom, the Drone Hackathon course started which aims to educate specialists from various branches of tech science – design engineers, radio engineers, drone operators and programmers – on the specific skills needed to make drones, military-tech and cybersecurity. The course is also part of the "Army of Drones" initiative.

The trainees will be able to join the projects developed by the Ukrainian military after the hackathon, notes the event’s initiator Minister for Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov:

"Our task is to raise the production development and technical support of drones to a high level. And not only to purchase drones from various companies around the world, but also to mass-produce them in our country," the minister said.
