The USA cannot yet increase the supply of projectiles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, because the main reason is the limited production capacity. In turn, it is still not possible to speed up the production, since there is a shortage of suitable machine tools on the world market, each of them is the size of a house.
This was stated by Douglas Bush, assistant Army secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology during an event organized by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), as the Defense One reports.

At the same time, Douglas Bush emphasized that the US has already accumulated significant reserves of some key types of raw materials necessary for the production of artillery ammunition, such as chemical precursors to explosives or special grades of steel.
However, there are certain limitations, namely the amount of raw materials that can be accumulated "in storage", and how long these raw materials can wait without losing their properties until they are used.

As the US Deputy Secretary of Defense emphasized, the Pentagon is considering various options for placing or starting production at the facilities of other countries. Especially, considering that Poland expresses interest in launching the licensed production of Javelin anti-tank missiles, Australia - the production of high-precision artillery ammunition.
