Instructors from multiple countries other than Great Britain, join the UK-led course for the Ukrainian military on basic combat tactics

Ukrainian servicemen training to use anti-tank systems in urban conditions were shown in the latest release from the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

The troops from the Armed Forces of Ukraine stationed in the UK for a several-week training course learn from the 5 RIFLES – the largest and most potent armored infantry battalion of the British Army – as well as instructors from multiple other countries.

"Soldiers from the 5 RIFLES led training in an urban exercise as part of UK training of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Partner (namely Ukrainian – ed.) Forces learn skill at arms on weapons systems and how to stalk a tank to destroy it from a distance, whilst remaining concealed," says the caption to the photo gallery. British instructors have a lot of experience working with the Ukrainian military, as the training on such systems as the featured NLAW goes back to times before the russian full-scale invasion, and the "Orbital" training program started even earlier, with over 20,000 Ukrainian servicemen trained from 2015 to 2022.

The program on training up to 10,000 by October military personnel on the basics of close combat led by Great Britain has grown into a truly international commitment. During his recent visit to the training grounds, British defense minister Ben Wallace revealed that instructors from Denmark, Netherlands and Finland had already arrived to provide their courses for the Ukrainians. As Defense Express reported, Canadian personnel arrived in the UK earlier, too.

"This training will give volunteer recruits with little to no military experience the skills to be effective in frontline combat," as noted by the UK Ministry of Defense.
