The Armed Forces of Ukraine are actively mastering Leopard 2A4 tanks in Poland: 105 Ukrainian servicemen are involved in the training, they are learning to use tanks on the battlefield under the supervision of Polish instructors of the Leopard Tank Operation Training Center, as Polska Zbrojna reports.
Training in the Polish city of Świętoszów started on February 6 and will continue until March 12. The article notes that most of Ukraine’s servicemen (more than 60%) arrived in Poland literally from the battlefield: they will primarily be trained as tank commanders and gunners.

The Leopard 2 training course will last a month, and a total of 21 crews will be trained as part of these exercises. For comparison, Polish tankers learn to master Leopard tanks for three months and study Monday to Friday for eight hours.
Ukraine’s military currently trains six days a week for 12 hours a day (as in the case of the Patriot SAM in Germany) and sometimes longer. One of the Polish officers notes that "the self-sacrifice of the Ukrainians is so great that if they could, they would spend the whole day in the center".
Of course, there are certain limitations in such a shortened course. Thus, in contrast to the three-month course, the Ukrainian military is not taught to fully service vehicles, but only to carry out quick repairs in the field in order to be able to restore the combat capability of the tank on the battlefield.
