The US Department of Defense has recently complained that the US military has insufficient reserves of certain weapons in case of hostilities, in particular, it was about interceptors for Patriot SAM systems, which in the arsenals of the US military were stockpiled only 25 percent of the missile interceptors needed for the Pentagon’s military plans.
According to The Atlantic, given the shortage of Patriot in the US military, the Pentagon decided to take a rather serious and ambiguous measure - blocking requests from Europe for the supply of weapons systems.

Surprisingly, Denmark was the first to suffer – as the publication notes, it was the US that lost interest in the billion-dollar deal, although at first it looked as if Washington had "missed the contract".
Let us briefly recall - first, the DSCA published information that the State Department had approved the sale of the Patriot SAM systems to Denmark with 56 GEM-T and PAC-3 MSE missiles and six launchers with a maximum price of over $8 billion, and then it became known that Denmark had chosen the SAMP/T NG after all - and given that the price of the Patriot for Denmark from a crazy $8.5 billion at the last moment dropped sharply to $3.2 billion, it seemed that it was the US that wanted to keep the buyer.
As of today, it is unclear how large-scale this practice will be for the US and which weapons systems will fall under the "embargo". But, as the publication writes, in general, everyone may remain "in the red" - Europe will lose the opportunity to purchase air defense systems and, probably, other weapons necessary for defense, the United States will lose profits.
Such news may be alarming for Ukraine, because there have already been incidents when the United States suddenly stopped supplying weapons to the Ukrainian Defense Forces - however, as the publication reports with reference to officials, suspensions of supplies to other countries will not affect Ukraine, since for a country that resists russian aggression, supplies are carried out within the framework of a separate program.
Let us recall that the other day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that within the framework of the mechanism for transferring weapons for Ukraine’s Defense Forces PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List), the first packages would include Patriot and HIMARS missiles.
