Although the Polish Warmate family of kamikaze UAVs is not often seen in public, everything indicates that they continue to be supplied to the Defense Forces of Ukraine

Previously, the Ukrainian Defense Forces were already supplied with UAVs by the Polish WB Group, namely the FlyEye reconnaissance and Warmate 3 strike drones. Currently, everything indicates that the Ukrainian military is also using the most modern Warmate 5 loitering munition system.

This was reported by the ukr_informant Telegram channel, which published a video of the use of these drones. It is assumed that the users of these UAVs may be one of the units of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. It is known that the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine previously had Warmate UAVs by WB Group in service and published a video with their interface earlier.

Defense Express notes that these kamikaze drones are now rarely seen in footage, which may indicate many different things, such as the small number of these systems in service, the specifics of their use, or, more simply, the lack of relevant publications in open sources. Given this, it is very difficult to draw any conclusions from this.

It is also currently unknown whether the Polish Warmate 5 loitering munition systems are being purchased as part of a Ukrainian defense order, or their supply is financed by Poland. It should be noted that other countries may also be involved in the supply of these UAVs to Ukraine.

In particular, in 2025, during a visit to one of the enterprises of the Polish WB Group, Swedish Defense Minister Paul Jonsson announced his intention to purchase a batch of drones for Ukraine. It is also possible that the Warmate UAVs are being purchased by Ukraine's partner countries within the framework of the so-called Drone Coalition that was formally established on 14 February 2024. It is an initiative proposed by Latvia and coordinated in conjunction with the United Kingdom..

Recall that the Warmate family of kamikaze UAVs was offered to the Ukrainian military even before the full-scale russian invasion to Ukraine, but they began to be received and used only in 2022. It should be noted that the FlyEye reconnaissance UAVs have been used by the Ukrainian military since 2014-2015 and have positive reviews.

Currently, the Polish group of companies WB Group has its own subsidiary in Ukraine, which previously provided repair and maintenance of the company's products operated by the Ukrainian military, as well as the supply of spare parts for them. In 2025, WB Group localized the production of UAVs in Ukraine, which may indicate the presence of orders for UAVs of the Polish group of companies from the Ukrainian military.

It should be noted that the Warmate 5 is a loitering munition system that can use modular warheads weighing 5 and 10 kg. At the same time, it is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 100 km, which makes it belong to the same class as the russian Lancet or the Ukrainian RAM-2X strike UAVs.
