Ukraine’s aviation can reach out russia’s air defense at a distance of up to 150 km

The combat aviation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine actively applies American GM-88 HARM anti-radar missiles against russian air defense systems. It was stated by the spokesman of the Air Force Command, Colonel Yuriy Ignat, ArmyInform reports.

At the same time, Ignat said the following phrase: "We hope that the successful integration of the AGM-88 HARM into Ukrainian attack jets will allow effective detection and destruction of russian radars."

This phrase can be interpreted as a hint that Ukrainian Air Force uses not only MiG-29s to launch AGM-88 HARM missiles, as the Pentagon previously indicated. But also, for example, Su-24M strike aircraft, provided that the Phantasmagoria radio-technical intelligence container is used.

After all, in his comment, the spokesman of the Air Force Command described the principle of using the AGM-88 HARM missile as follows: "Its principle of action is quite simple. The missile catches a radar signal in a certain square and flies to this radiation." And this description applies to all the strike aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine capable of using air-to-surface guided missiles.

AGM-88 HARM missiles can destroy targets at a range of 25-150 km. These missiles, as Ignat emphasizes, "work quite effectively." Considering that Ukrainian intelligence is aware of the locations of enemy air defense equipment in the temporarily occupied territories, namely Pantsyr and Tor air defense systems, Buk, S-300 and S-400 complexes.
