During the FEINDEF 2025 defense exhibition in Italy, Spain’s Instalaza showcased the Hispano Multipurpose Weapon (MPW) — a 90mm reusable smart grenade launcher intended as a next-generation replacement for the company's earlier C90 system, widely used in Ukraine since 2022.
According to Army Recognition, the MPW was designed after evaluating the operational performance of the C90 in Ukraine. Furthermore, as Ukrainian soldiers frequently referred to the system simply as "Hispano", the manufacturer decided to name the new launcher accordingly — in tribute to those who used it in combat.

The Hispano MPW features a day and thermal 3x optic, a laser rangefinder, and the integrated Vosel-H fire control system. This onboard computer automatically adjusts for distance, angle, environmental conditions, and even the fuel temperature in the rocket motor — all factors that impact thrust and projectile velocity.
The MPW is compatible with legacy C90 ammunition, including 90mm anti-tank, anti-bunker, utility, smoke, and high-power rounds. It also supports new extended-range projectiles capable of hitting targets up to 650 meters, compared to the previous 350 meters.

Weighing approximately 7.5 kg and measuring less than one meter in length, the launcher is optimized for mobility in frontline conditions. In addition to its main optics, it includes a backup collimator sight for close-range engagements or in the event of system failure.

The cost of the original C90 launchers has been reported at around €3,000, based on recent procurement data from the Spanish military. While the price of the Hispano MPW launcher has not been disclosed, it is expected to be significantly higher due to its advanced components — though ammunition costs will likely remain similar.
