russian propagandists in their media say that anti-tank missile systems, although they demonstrate themselves effectively on the battlefield, have a number of limitations, and that one of the ways to improve the situation is their newest development — the Kh-BPLA missile, presented in 2021.

This missile first became known several years ago. Even then, the occupiers claimed that the Kh-BPLA missile had allegedly passed a number of successful tests. It was stated that this missile was tested by launching it from a prototype Ka-52M helicopter. In addition, according to russian propagandists, a number of russian drones can be used as platforms for launching the Kh-BPLA missile from the air: the Inokhodets, the Forpost, the Altius UAVs as well as the perspective heavy S-70 Okhotnik.

Kh-BPLA is a guided air missile based on the Kornet anti-tank missile system, which has 9М133М-2 missiles with a tandem-cumulative warhead (armor penetration 1100-1300 mm), 9М133FM-2 missiles with a thermobaric warhead and 9M133FM-3 with a high-explosive warhead.

The Kh-BPLA missile is designed to hit heavily armored targets, as well as low-speed targets in the air flying at low altitudes. The missile is guided by a laser beam. The range of the Kh-BPLA missile is claimed to be 10 km (8-10 km for the 9M133FM-3 missile, up to 8 km for the 9M133M-2 and 9M133FM-2 missiles).

A UAV or helicopter using Kh-BPLA missiles can simultaneously fire a "volley" at two targets or fire two missiles at one target at once to increase the chances of hitting.

In the same way, as the enemy claims, the Kh-BPLA missile can "fool" the active protection systems of armored vehicles, when two missiles are fired one after the other along the same laser path with a minimum delay, so that the active protection system of an armored vehicle cannot react to the second missile.

Separately, it is worth paying attention to one of the carriers of these missiles, namely the enemy Ka-52M attack helicopter - we will remind you that in July, the enemy's army aviation allegedly began to receive these modernized aircraft, and in December, the so-called Ministry of Defense of the russian federation released footage of the use of these helicopters.
