And which format is the most applicable for these Soviet guns defending Ukraine’s soil

ArmyInform wrote about how Ukraine’s servicemen use S-60 75mm anti-aircraft guns from the AZP-57 complex. And there are at least two things that can be learnt about them.

Firstly, the S-60 appeared in Ukraine’s army not only from storage bases, but also from the reserves of the armed forces of Ukraine’s partner countries. The range of possible "importers" of S-60 anti-aircraft guns for the Armed Forces of Ukraine is quite limited, as these systems are still in service only with the Polish Armed Forces. Although other ex-Warsaw Pact countries should not be excluded either.

The second thing is HOW will the S-60 be used by Ukraine’s military. The article points out that if these anti-aircraft guns of the 1950s were put into a battery, it would be enough to shoot down any modern russian combat aircraft.

However in the conditions of a 2022 war, this format is dangerous primarily for Ukraine’s gunners, because the "crowding" of guns will reduce the survivability of the entire battery. But if the S-60 used as a "wheelbarrow", then such a weapon can quite effectively work against enemy drones at a range of up to 6 km and at an altitude of up to 4 km, against infantry, field fortifications and light armored vehicles of the russian army.

The S-60 most actively used against russians in Zaporizhzhya direction. And in order to increase their mobility the S-60s were mounted on trucks. It was mentioned that the engineers of the Motor Sich enterprise were involved completing such modifications. So, the combat results of S-60 calculations look the following:

"Firstly, the anti-aircraft guns dissuaded russia’s attack helicopters from the tactics of direct strikes on our positions. Now they hit from long distances using the camber method. Secondly, the cases when the enemy's armored vehicles went to open areas in groups and brazenly hit Ukrainians from one place for 20 or more minutes have almost stopped. The audacity in the actions of the enemy's mortars has also decreased," ArmyInform sites the assessments of Ukraine’s soldiers.
