How much did the development of the Inguar-3 armored vehicle cost as wel as other details tells representatives of the Inguar Defense company

Back in the fall of 2022, the Ukrainian company Inguar Defense showed the concept of its own armored vehicles — a light tactical vehicle in 4x4 and 6x6 versions, and later Defense Express talked about what features and specifications the Inguar-3 armored vehicle has and how it differs from similar vehicles.

The details of the creation of this vehicle were reported by representatives of the Inguar Defense company in an interview with Ukrainian media Army TV. As the Inguar-3 project manager Artem notes, the team already had experience in servicing armored vehicles and had been dealing with this issue for a long time. "We were able to study the entire fleet of vehicles that the Armed Forces of Ukraine currently operate – domestic, foreign as well as trophy equipment," Artem tells.

The cost of developing the vehicle and the sample shown in the video is $700,000. The price of the vehicle under conditions of serial production is about 16-17 million hryvnias (420 thousand US dollars). "The project was implemented with the help of investments, and we also covered a significant amount at the expense of repairs. That is, we reinvested all the funds we earned in R&D," Artem reports.

The company emphasizes that during the development of Inguar-3, they were taking into account the real combat experience gained by the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in battles against the russian invasion army / Army TV video screengrab

"We developed a vehicle of the third class of armored protection according to NATO standards – this is protection against an armor-piercing bullet 7.62×54 fired from a rifle, as well as detonation of 8 kg in the TNT equivalent of a mine under the wheel or under the bottom of the vehicle," said one of the authors of the project Mykhailo, engineer of the Inguar Defense company.

On the instrument panel of the vehicle attention is drawn to the screens with the fuel level in the left and right fuel tanks – the engineer explains that they are separated into two systems, and in case of damage to one of them, the valve is automatically closing so the vehicle can continue driving on undamaged tanks.

Instead of mirrors, the developers installed side-view cameras on the vehicle, the image is displayed on the screens in the vehicle. "They do not break, do not fold and constantly provide a clear image of what is outside our car," Mykhailo explains.

Inguar-3 also has a button to turn on the so-called "blackout mode", when, if necessary, the driver can navigate on the monitor located in the vehicle with all external light sources turned off.

There are six mine-protected seats in the landing compartment. According to developers, protection of the vehicle against FPV drones will be organized by installing means of electronic warfare. It should be noted, that the vehicle is equipped with a turret on which machine guns can be mounted, such as, for example, Browning M2, DShK, NSVT, or even a Mk.19 grenade launcher.

The vehicle was demonstrated to the commander of the National Guard of Ukraine just a few days after its release, and it was immediately tested in rather difficult conditions. Tests were also conducted with various units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "The vehicle shows itself well, we received good reviews," says Mykhailo.

The company also tells the story that they received a letter on e-mail from South America which was sent by representative of one of local cartels with a request to buy a batch of Inguar-3 armored vehicles.

As Defense Express reported earlier, Ukraine's Defense Ministry Reported 1,500 Pieces of Equipment Returned to the Army, Including Armored Vehicles.
