Air defense troops of the 116th Separate Mechanized Brigade demonstrated effective work in countering russian drones, destroying three UAVs at once. The footage showcasing the operations and their results were shared by the Brigade's press service on social media.

"We are eliminating the enemy in the sky," the fighters reported in a spartan-brief manner.

Among the air targets downed are an enemy Lancet, a Zala, and a couple Mavic quadcopter drones. In the first two instances, the Ukrainian forces deployed manually piloted anti-aircraft FPV drones — an evolving tactic that is proving to be a cost-effective way to neutralize russian scout drones like ZALA 421-16 or suicide weapons like the Lancet.

The latter case is more interesting: the DJI Mavics were caught by special net-throwing drones. While the type in these instances were used is not specified, but for illustration purposes, here's how the principle looks like on an example — the DroneHunter F700 from American Fortem Technologies.

This method of countering enemy UAVs has been employed by both Ukrainian and russian sides in this war, although the scale remains uncertain.

Dropping the net exactly from above, as featured in the video, might be to increase the chance of success or simply due to having no net launch mechanism offered by specially designed drones — raising the acquisition price accordingly. After all, such net-trower UAVs were originally designed for law enforcement services, not war.

Earlier, Defense Express reported that Ukraine had presented mesh system to operate UGVs without airborne relay.
