The United States believes russia may launch its experimental Oreshnik hypersonic missile against Ukraine in the coming days, according to a Reuters report.
An unnamed US official characterized the Oreshnik as a weapon of limited impact. Despite being a new missile in russia's arsenal, it is considered "experimental" and reportedly produced in small quantities. The missile carries a smaller warhead compared to others used by russia in its campaign against Ukraine.

“This missile is not a battlefield game-changer but merely another tool in russia’s ongoing attempts to terrorize Ukraine - efforts which are expected to fail,” the official told Reuters.
The anticipated launch highlights continued tensions, with russia likely to rely on such weapons to intimidate rather than achieve decisive military gains.
