Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed another russian 203-mm 2C7 Pion self-propelled artillery installation. This is evidenced by the footage of the disposal of this russian artillery system by Ukrainian gunners published on social networks. As noted, an enemy 203-mm self-propelled cannon was hit near the settlement of Makiivka in Donetsk region, approximately 8-9 km from the front line.
As it could be can seen in the video, the occupiers tried to disguise their self-propelled guns, however, the operator of the Ukrainian reconnaissance UAV still managed to spot this russian artillery system.
The 2S7 Pion self-propelled cannon of occupiers was probably hit by a shot from a Ukrainian artillery system. This shot, although it did not directly hit the self-propelled installation, but, firstly, it was hit by debris, and, secondly, judging by the video, it hit the ammunition that the occupiers had hidden together with the self-propelled gun.
As a result of the detonation of the ammunition, the fire spread directly to the vehicle itself.
The result of the damage is quite obvious - the fire from the ammunition spilled onto the vehicle, which probably received serious damage, the occupiers are unlikely to be able to "save" the self-propelled cannon.
By the way, in the context of the damaged enemy 2S7 Pion self-propelled cannon, it is worth mentioning another case that also happened in Donetsk region, where Ukrainian gunners took aim at another similar russian self-propelled artillery system.
The ammunition did not hit the installation itself, so it is difficult to say for sure whether it was destroyed, but at the same time it can be assumed that the vehicle was damaged by debris and will be sent for repairs.
