There is a new and interesting example of using drones in battles against the russian army that is worth examining in detail

A video has recently become available that shows a new and interesting format for using drones by the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Specifically, it demonstrates the use of a drone as a flying "combat provoker" for psychological impact on the enemy, aiming to force enemy soldiers to surrender.

Although the creators of this video did not specify the exact time and place of the events and did not detail how widespread the practice of employing such flying "combat provokers" is in current combat conditions, the example itself is noteworthy.

It seems we are witnessing the first-ever flying device in military history designed for acoustic influence on the enemy. Even if, in this case, it is an FPV drone with a speaker attached.

An interesting question here is how the transmission of the text from the speaker works. Specifically, how the speaker is attached to the drone, how the control and voice transmission of the text are managed, and why the text in russian was chosen to be delivered in the voice of Soviet announcer Yuri Levitan from World War II.

Additionally, it is notable that the video features fighters with identification marks from the Military Counterintelligence Department of the Ukrainian Security Service. This suggests that other branches of the Ukrainian Defense Forces may also be pursuing their own psychological tactics to encourage enemy surrender.

It is also important to note that there was already publicly available information about the Ukrainian Defense Forces using acoustic methods to influence the enemy before this moment.

For instance, we can recall that in early October 2022, the Ukrainian Armed Forces used loudspeakers to inform russian troops in the Lyman area that they were surrounded and should surrender. Additionally, in the fall of 2022, Ukrainian troops in the Kharkiv region captured a drone "combat provoker" of the russian occupiers, designated as ZS-82, based on the BRDM-2.
