On September 13, 2024, Ukrainian Air Assault units successfully thwarted a mechanized attack by russian Airborne Forces in the Kursk region

The command of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces reported this on Facebook and released the corresponding video.

"The aggressor state's troops are desperately trying to force the Ukrainian Defense Forces out of the Kursk region," the statement reads.

The enemy deployed 14 units of military equipment, including two tanks, eleven airborne infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), and one armored personnel carrier (APC). These vehicles were equipped with additional protection against drone strikes.

The presence of airborne infantry fighting vehicles suggests that a russian Airborne Forces unit was responsible for the assault.

The video shows that FPV drones and pre-placed anti-tank mines were used to repel the assault. While the footage doesn't clearly identify all the destroyed vehicles, it confirms that at least six russian vehicles were eliminated.

"Five airborne infantry fighting vehicles, a tank, and an armored personnel carrier, along with several dozen russian soldiers, remained on the battlefield. The surviving russian Airborne Forces fled the area," the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces reported.
