Ukrainian forces have successfully struck rare russian electronic warfare system, known as the Tirada-2, marking a significant operational achievement. The attack was carried out by operators of the Unmanned Systems Forces, and footage released by the Shadow unit of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade confirmed the strike.

Developed by the Central Research Institute of the Ministry of Defense of russia, the Tirada-2 was first contracted in 2018 and later spotted in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region in 2019. Despite russian claims that the system could jam satellite communications, it was rendered ineffective against Ukrainian drones in the recent operation.

Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance played a crucial role by detecting the system despite the enemy’s attempts to camouflage it among trees. Due to the sparse greenery in the area, the concealment efforts failed, enabling Ukrainian forces to pinpoint the location and execute a precise strike. This successful engagement not only underscores the tactical superiority of Ukrainian unmanned systems but also highlights the vulnerability of russian electronic warfare capabilities.
