Aerial reconnaissance ensures no safe hiding spots for russian artillery

Fighters of the Aeronauts unit successfully located and targeted russian 2S5 Giatsint-S self-propelled artillery system, delivering a precision strike on russian weapon.

A video of the strike, published on the unit’s official channel, shows the moment Ukrainian forces neutralized the long-range artillery piece. The 2S5 Giatsint-S boasts a firing range of over 33 kilometers, allowing russian troops to position it far from the front lines. However, this tactic did not prevent Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance from identifying and striking the target.

Russian artillery system had been concealed within a tree line, but reconnaissance operators utilizing the Shark UAV successfully detected and relayed its coordinates. Soon after, a powerful explosion destroyed the Giatsint-S system, likely causing its ammunition load to detonate.

The strike not only eliminated a significant threat but also served as a reminder that no amount of camouflage can ensure the safety of russian forces from Ukrainian surveillance and firepower.
