On April 14, 2024, Ukrainian forces pulled off a strategic move, taking out russian Strela-10 surface-to-air missile system on the front line. This well-timed attack coincided with russia’s Air Defense Forces Day, delivering a symbolic blow to their air defense capabilities.
The operation involved a unit from the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. They successfully identified and neutralized the Strela-10 system, effectively taking away a key element of russian air defense in the region.

“On this day, the enemy’s air defense operators were celebrating the day of russia’s Air Defense Forces Day, so they received a fitting greeting. As a result of the attack, russian Strela-10 system no longer fires – the system has been neutralized!” the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine reported.
