The Ivan Franko Group UAV unit carried out a series of deadly drone strikes that dealt a major blow to russian forces in the east. The one-day operation in Donetsk highlighted the growing effectiveness of Ukraine’s drone warfare tactics.
The unit successfully destroyed russian 2S3 Akatsiya self-propelled artillery system, two D-30 howitzers, and several military vehicles, including Ural trucks used for logistics. The self-propelled gun, hidden under tree cover near abandoned homes, was located by aerial reconnaissance and hit by a kamikaze drone. The strike caused a massive secondary explosion as the onboard ammunition ignited.
