Operators of the Raid 413th Regiment of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces have struck several russian locomotives, delivering what the unit described as a significant blow to enemy military logistics. Video footage of the operation was released by the regiment.
According to the unit, the attacks targeted railway assets used to sustain russian military operations on temporarily occupied Ukrainian territory and in frontline regions inside russia. The regiment emphasized that rail transport remains one of the most important components of Moscow's logistical network supporting its forces near the front.

"Why the railway? Because it remains one of the main supply routes for the russian army on temporarily occupied territories and in frontline regions of the russian federation," the unit said in a statement accompanying the footage. The railway system is used to transport ammunition, fuel, military equipment, and personnel to operational areas.
Unlike trucks, locomotives represent high-value logistical assets whose destruction or disablement can disrupt multiple supply trains and create bottlenecks across broader transportation networks. Damaging locomotives may reduce the enemy's ability to move heavy equipment efficiently and force greater reliance on road transport, which is generally more vulnerable to drone and artillery strikes.
"As long as the enemy army relies on the railway, operators of the 413th Regiment will hunt its locomotives," the unit stated.
