In a display of coordination and precision, Ukrainian border guards successfully repelled another overnight aerial assault in the south of the country, highlighting their continued vigilance in defending critical infrastructure and civilian lives.

During the latest attack, servicemen from the Odesa Border Guard Detachment and the Maritime Guard of the State Border Guard Service worked together to neutralize a wave of enemy drones. According to official reports, four Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs, launched by russian forces, were intercepted and destroyed before they could reach their intended targets.

The incoming drones, which posed a serious threat to both critical infrastructure and civilian facilities in Odesa region, were first detected using available surveillance and tracking equipment. The quick and coordinated response ensured that all four drones were eliminated mid-air, preventing any damage or casualties.

This successful interception underscores the growing expertise and preparedness of Ukraine's air defense components, particularly the role played by the border guard units. Their ability to engage aerial threats is a testament to both their training and their integration into broader defense efforts.

The border guards continue to be a critical frontline component in safeguarding southern Ukraine. Their role extends beyond traditional border security, encompassing active combat roles and air defense responsibilities amid ongoing russian aggression.

As Defense Express previously reported, in a recent combat update from the Phoenix unit have released new footage highlighting their latest successful drone strikes. The operations took place in the Kramatorsk direction, a hotly contested axis in the east of Ukraine.

The video shows the destruction of multiple high-value enemy targets, emphasizing the growing role of drone warfare in Ukraine's tactical operations. Among the destroyed assets are enemy infantry units, the BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launcher system, one anti-aircraft gun, one armored vehicle, and a military truck. Each of these assets represents both a battlefield threat and a logistical burden for russian forces.
