Ukrainian forces have struck a command post of russian S-300P/PM air defense system, targeting a key component responsible for coordinating the system's operations.
The strike was carried out by drone operators from Ukraine's 15th Brigade. The brigade released footage of the combat operation, showing the engagement of what it described as a rare and high-value target.

According to the brigade, the command-and-staff vehicle serves as the "brain" of the S-300 system. It receives information from radar assets, processes the incoming data and transmits commands to the system's launchers.
Destroying such a vehicle can therefore affect more than a single element of russian air defense network. Without its command component, several launchers can potentially lose the ability to operate as an integrated system and respond effectively to aerial threats.
The brigade said that a successful strike on the command post can create a gap in russian air defenses across a particular section of the front. Such gaps can provide Ukrainian aircraft, missiles or drones with additional opportunities to penetrate deeper into temporary occupied areas.
The brigade also emphasized the value of the equipment itself. S-300 command vehicles contain sophisticated and relatively scarce electronic components, making them expensive assets that are not easily replaced.
Another factor is the personnel required to operate the system. According to the brigade, russian crews require years of training to master the complex air defense equipment, meaning that the loss of a command vehicle can potentially affect not only hardware but also an established operational capability.
