In the early hours of Monday, June 6, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled russian drone attack on Kyiv. The Ukrainian Ground Forces shared footage of the defense operation on their official social media channels, showcasing the swift and precise response of their mobile air defense units.

According to the report, a total of seven unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down over the capital. The mobile fire groups operating within Kyiv's defense system were instrumental in neutralizing the aerial threats. These units continue to play a vital role in safeguarding the city from persistent drone assaults.

The operation was led by the air defense elements of the Separate Presidential Brigade, one of Ukraine's elite military formations. In a statement accompanying the published footage, the brigade confirmed the successful destruction of all seven airborne targets during the night engagement.

Video clips released from the scene captured the moment Ukrainian defenders engaged the enemy drones using a combination of anti-aircraft missile and artillery systems. The footage underscores the increasing importance of agile and responsive air defense tactics in the ongoing war.

Kyiv has been a frequent target of drone and missile attacks, with russian forces attempting to test and overwhelm Ukrainian air defenses. However, mobile fire teams, small, flexible units capable of quickly repositioning, have proven effective in intercepting threats before they can inflict damage.

The use of drones by russian forces has evolved into a regular tactic in their campaign against Ukraine, targeting infrastructure and population centers alike. Ukraine's ability to intercept such threats is not only critical for civilian safety but also serves as a morale booster for both the military and the public.

As Defense Express previously reported, in a display of coordination and precision, Ukrainian border guards successfully repelled another overnight aerial assault in the south of the country, highlighting their continued vigilance in defending critical infrastructure and civilian lives.

During the latest attack, servicemen from the Odesa Border Guard Detachment and the Maritime Guard of the State Border Guard Service worked together to neutralize a wave of enemy drones. According to official reports, four Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs, launched by russian forces, were intercepted and destroyed before they could reach their intended targets.
