Despite the enemy's air defenses covering Bryansk and Taganrog, the drones reached both targets

December 11 night, Ukraine launched a long-range attack hitting two strategic targets on the territory of russia: the Druzhba oil pipeline point in the Bryansk Region and the Beriev Aircraft Company (TANKT) in Taganrog.

The exact weapons used in these attacks remain unknown. Worth reminding, since recently, Ukraine has for such strikes not only propeller-driven kamikaze drones but also domestically-designed Peklo cruise missiles — the first batch of these was supplied to the Ukrainian Defense Forces the other day.

Regarding the target of the strike in the Bryansk Region, located about 110 km from Ukraine's border, reports vary. The official report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported a successful elimination of the local NP Bryansk loading point of the Druzhba oil pipeline.

Ukrainian OSINT communities link this facility to the Transneft oil depot in the city of Bryansk, stationed on the eastern outskirts of the city and is part of the Druzhba oil pipeline infrastructure. This very depot used to be under a very successful attack previously, on April 25, 2022, when most of the tanks were completely destroyed, but russians then undertook to restore this facility.

Meanwhile, russian sources report the destruction of an oil loading point near the village of Sven, 8 km south of the city. Also, despite numerous videos online showing a significant fire breakout, local authorities state that air defense systems managed to shoot down all 10 Ukrainian drones, and if something was burning, the fires were extinguished almost immediately.

Regarding the attack on Taganrog that hit around 150–160 km from the front line in Ukraine, some unofficial sources in russia claim the use of ATACMS ballistic missiles while local authorities mention drones.

The target of this strike was the Taganrog Aviation Scientific-Technical Complex named after G. M. Beriev. For this one, too, it's also not the first time suffering from a Ukrainian air attack. In March 2024, Ukrainian drones hit the hangar where an A-50 airborne radar aircraft of the russian Aerospace Forces was being repaired or serviced. This aircraft factory is also used as a base for russian Orion UAVs, one of which fell on the city this September.

Local authorities have not reported the consequences of Ukraine's attack on this enterprise but noted that residential buildings and a boiler house were damaged on Tsiolkovsky Street, which leads to this factory, the result being several dozen apartment buildings left without heating.
