Ukraine has taken delivery of another batch of highly specialized mobile F-16 simulators, allowing the Air Force to train more pilots and intensify preparation for Western fighter operations

Ukraine has received another batch of highly specialized mobile F-16 flight simulators, further strengthening its ability to train fighter pilots as the country continues integrating Western combat aircraft into its Air Force. The delivery was announced on July 13 by Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.

According to the minister, the new simulators will allow Ukraine to increase the intensity of pilot training while expanding instruction to a larger number of aircrews. The systems are expected to improve training capacity without compromising the quality of preparation required for operating the fourth-generation multirole fighters.

The mobile simulators are specifically configured for Ukrainian military pilots transitioning to F-16 fighters. Unlike conventional fixed-base training systems, these platforms can be rapidly relocated between training sites, allowing instructors to support multiple locations and maintain a continuous training cycle even as operational requirements change.

The flexibility of the systems enables pilots to rehearse a wide range of combat scenarios, including air-to-air engagements, air defense suppression missions, emergency procedures, and tactical decision-making. By conducting these exercises in a virtual environment, aircrews can build experience and refine complex skills without consuming valuable flight hours or placing operational aircraft at risk.

Mobile F-16 simulators are considered exceptionally rare, with only a limited number reportedly available worldwide. Their deployment to Ukraine reflects the growing international effort to accelerate pilot training and ensure Ukrainian aircrews can quickly adapt to NATO-standard equipment and operational procedures.

The latest delivery forms part of a broader modernization of Ukraine's military aviation training system. As more F-16 fighters enter service, expanding the number of qualified pilots and support personnel has become a strategic priority. Advanced simulation allows instructors to prepare crews more efficiently while reducing costs and wear on aircraft.
