Ukraine has officially received its first F-16 fighter jets from the Netherlands. Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans made the announcement on X, stating that these deliveries are crucial in the fight against russia.
“For the first time, I can officially announce that the first Dutch F-16 aircraft have been delivered to Ukraine. This is urgently needed,” Ruben Brekelmans wrote. He highlighted the destruction caused by russian airstrikes in cities like Kharkiv and the constant air raid warnings. A total of 24 more F-16 jets are expected to arrive in Ukraine over the coming months.

In addition to fighter jets, the Netherlands will provide advanced drones worth 400 million euros. These drones, intended for reconnaissance, defense, and attack missions, will further enhance the Armed Forces’ capabilities. According to Ruben Brekelmans, nearly half of these drones will be developed in the Netherlands.
