Ukrainian drone operators from the Achilles Brigade have disabled scarce Borisoglebsk-2 electronic warfare system, weakening russian efforts to suppress communications and UAV operations

Ukrainian forces have successfully struck rare russian Borisoglebsk-2 electronic warfare system on the Vovchansk axis, delivering a notable blow to the enemy's ability to conduct coordinated operations in this sector. The strike was carried out by operators of the Achilles 429th Unmanned Systems Brigade, who tracked the system and executed a series of coordinated attacks.

According to the Brigade, the operation involved multiple strike assets and precise coordination, which prevented russian forces from evacuating the system in time. As a result, the Borisoglebsk-2 system was disabled on the spot, adding to the already limited number of such systems available to the russian military.

The destruction of this EW unit is particularly significant for units operating on the Vovchansk direction. Borisoglebsk-2 system is designed to suppress communications, command-and-control links, and satellite navigation, meaning its presence directly complicates the work of Ukrainian infantry and drone units. Its removal from the battlefield will ease operations for both ground forces and unmanned systems active in the area.

Borisoglebsk-2 is a multi-role electronic warfare system developed to counter a wide range of battlefield electronics. Mounted on tracked chassis, it integrates several jamming and signals intelligence modules intended to disrupt radio communications, UAV control links, and GPS-based navigation used by both troops and precision-guided weapons.

Due to its cost, complexity, and limited production numbers, Borisoglebsk-2 system is considered a relatively rare asset. Throughout the full-scale war, only around 15 confirmed strikes against this type of system have been recorded, underscoring how infrequently it appears close enough to the front line to be targeted.

Its deployment on the Vovchansk axis suggests that russian forces are attempting to reinforce their offensive actions in this sector by degrading Ukrainian situational awareness and drone effectiveness.

As Defense Express previously reported, operators of Ukraine's Nemesis 412th Brigade have destroyed a key element of russian S-300V air defense system, scoring another high-value hit with mid-range strike capabilities.
