Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin highlights intensive investigations and international cooperation

Ukraine is investigating Belarus’ possible involvement in the deportation of Ukrainian children from the temporarily occupied territories to russia. This was stated by Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin.

“These proceedings (deportation of children to russia) are currently being actively investigated. We are also cooperating with our partners who assist us in gathering evidence. We are also investigating the potential commission of this crime by representatives of the Republic of Belarus. Therefore, these investigations are our priority,” Andriy Kostin said.

The Prosecutor General noted that Ukraine closely cooperates with the International Criminal Court in investigating this crime, but also conducts its own investigation into russian officials who may be involved in the abduction of Ukrainian children. Andriy Kostin suggested that the results of the investigations will be presented within the current year.
