Ukraine Holds Back 60,000 russian Troops in Kursk Region – SBU Colonel Kostenko

SBU Colonel and Ukrainian MP Roman Kostenko reported that Ukrainian forces are containing 50,000–60,000 russian troops in the Kursk region

Speaking on Espreso TV, he explained that withdrawing from the area would risk russian forces moving into Donetsk or the Sumy region, shifting the conflict onto Ukrainian soil.

He emphasized the strategic importance of maintaining positions, as the enemy reallocates reserves, such as airborne divisions from Zaporizhzhia. Strategic decisions, he noted, are made by Ukraine's Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff to minimize losses and ensure success.
