Ukraine has gathered intelligence indicating that Russian forces are employing North Korean soldiers in assaults in the Kursk region, with potential plans to deploy them along other parts of the frontline, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported

According to him, there is preliminary evidence that the russians have begun to use a significant number of soldiers from North Korea in assaults. The russians include them in combined units and use them in operations in the Kursk region.

‘So far, only there. But we have information that they may be used in other parts of the frontline. Losses among this category are already noticeable,’ Zelenskyy said.

He stressed that russia has actually dragged another state into the war, and added that Kremlin leader Vladimir putin ‘is taking steps to expand and prolong this war’.

‘It is he who is pushing away the possibility of peace. And he wants the world to have more problems in Asia. That is why russians are teaching North Korea modern warfare,’ the president said.

Zelenskyy also stressed that Ukraine will defend itself, in particular against the DPRK military, and will continue to cooperate with partners to stop the war.
