Ukraine-Germany consultations on defence cooperation development held in Berlin

October 21, the delegation of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine took part in Ukraine-Germany consultations on the development of defence cooperation and security environment analysis in Berlin.

“The parties considered the role of defence agencies in the implementation of state security and defence policy, as well as the formation of strategic documents in this area,” the press service of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine informs.

In particular, the meeting participants analyzed the current security situation in the European region given the growing potential challenges and threats, the ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine, and the continuation of Russia’s aggressive foreign policy, in particular in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov regions.

“The consultations gave an opportunity to discuss the current state and identify promising areas of bilateral cooperation for 2021, reaffirm the mutual desire of the parties to develop strategic partnership and contribute to strengthening security and stability in Europe,” the statement reads.
