Ukrainian unmanned units struck two Tor-M2 and one Tor-M2U air defense systems across temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia and Luhansk regions in a two-day operation

Ukrainian unmanned systems units have carried out a series of precision strikes against russian air defense assets and logistical infrastructure in temporarily occupied territories, continuing a broader campaign to degrade the enemy's ability to sustain combat operations. The attacks were confirmed by Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces on the evening of March 17.

According to the report, Ukrainian drone operators successfully targeted three short-range air defense systems, including two Tor-M2 systems and one upgraded Tor-M2U unit. These systems are designed to protect critical military assets from aerial threats, making them high-value targets in the current phase of the war.

The strikes were conducted over March 15-16 by multiple specialized units. Pilots from the Raid 413th Regiment hit russian Tor-M2U and Tor-M2 systems in Zaporizhzhia region, demonstrating the unit's ability to locate and engage advanced air defense platforms in contested areas.

At the same time, operators from the Kairos 9th Battalion struck another Tor-M2 system in Luhansk region. The coordinated nature of these attacks suggests a sustained effort to systematically dismantle russian layered air defense coverage.

Ukrainian forces emphasized that russian troops are increasingly attempting to preserve their air defense systems by dispersing them, relocating them deeper into temporarily occupied territory, and employing decoys and camouflage tactics. However, these measures have so far failed to prevent successful Ukrainian strikes.

In addition to targeting air defense systems, Ukrainian drone operators also hit a fuel depot in Zaporizhzhia region on March 16. The strike was carried out by the Nemesis Brigade, further expanding the operational focus from air defense suppression to logistical disruption.

The Unmanned Systems Forces noted that these operations were conducted in coordination with the Deep Strike Center, underscoring a growing level of integration between reconnaissance, targeting, and strike capabilities within Ukraine's military structure.
