On the night of March 29, 2024, russia launched a large-scale missile and drone attack targeting Ukrainian fuel and energy infrastructure. The assault involved a mix of missiles and drones.

A total of 99 aerial attack assets were deployed by russia, including:

- 60 Shahed-136/131 type UAVs (launched from Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk region, russia);
- 3 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missiles (launched from 3 MiG-31K aircraft, Ryazan region, russia);
- 2 Iskander-M missiles (launched from Crimea);
- 9 Kh-59 missiles (launched from 9 Su-34 bombers, Belgorod region, russia);
- 4 Iskander-K missiles (launched from Kursk region, russia);
- 21 Kh-101/Kh-555 missiles (launched from 11 Tu-95MS strategic bombers, Engels, russia).

Ukrainian air defense forces, comprising ground troops, air defense missile units and electronic warfare assets were involved in repelling the strike.
Through decisive action, Ukrainian defenses neutralized a substantial portion of the aerial threats.
84 aerial targets were successfully destroyed, including:
- 58 Shahed-136/131 type UAVs;
- 17 Kh-101/Kh-555 missiles;
- 5 Kh-59 missiles;
- 4 Iskander-K missiles.
