The U.S. M142 HIMARS will take part in military exercises in Latvia

Two highly mobile M142 HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, as well as about 12 personnel, are being transferred by the U.S. Army to Latvia, where the missile systems will participate in exercises called NAMEJS 2022 to demonstrate the capabilities of rapid deployment of long-range precision weapons on NATO's eastern flank.

It is noted that M142’s, as well as personnel, will be deployed simultaneously at two points in Latvia by means of two C-130 military transport aircraft.

The NAMEJS exercise is said to be an important opportunity for US conventional and special operations forces to work together in a combined training environment, enhancing interoperability and lethality.

They are designed to improve readiness, lethality, modernization and interoperability by developing the ability of the U.S. Army in Europe and Africa to rapidly deploy its long-range precision fire systems in coordination with allies and partners.
