The Ukrainian air defense forces have destroyed a russian Su-24M frontline bomber — this was reported by the Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, on his official social media pages.
As noted, the Ukrainian military "hunted down" the russian aircraft near Zmiinyi (Snake) Island on December 5.

The hostile Su-24M bomber, under the cover of the Su-30SM fighter, attempted to launch a missile and bomb attack in the southern part of Odesa Oblast.
In particular, the Resource Monitor reported at 17:40 that the enemy, using tactical aviation, is attempting to attack the Danube Delta.
However, thanks to the successful operation of the South (Pivden) Air Command, the Ukrainian anti-aircraft unit shot down the Su-24M, and it met the same fate as the russian Moskva military ship.
According to the statistics of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since February 2022, the occupiers have lost 323 of their aircraft and 324 helicopters.
