Ukrainian military targets a key ammunition depot in a nighttime operation

Last night, Ukrainian forces conducted a precision strike on the Khanskaya airfield in the Republic of Adygea, russia. The target was an ammunition depot located within the military facility. Despite the presence of active enemy air defenses, the strike successfully hit its objective, with a fire being reported at the site, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

The Khanskaya airfield, also known as the 272nd Training Aviation Base, primarily supports the Krasnodar Aviation School. However, recent satellite imagery from the European Space Agency has revealed that the facility currently functions as a military airfield. A satellite image dated September 6 showed 12 aircraft on the base, the standard size of a tactical aviation squadron. Additional sources indicate that 57 units have been present at the base. While the exact models of the aircraft remain unclear, the Su-34 and Su-27 fighter jets are known to have been stationed at the airfield.
