Ukraine thwarts russian drone attack in fierce aerial battle

On December 6, 2023, russian forces launched 48 Shahed-type drones into Ukrainian airspace from two directions: Chauda Cape in Crimea and the Kursk region of russia.

The Ukrainian Air Force, working together with the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, intercepted and destroyed 41 of the enemy drones in an aerial battle.

Fighter jets, anti-aircraft missile units and mobile fire groups from the Armed Forces of Ukraine all took part in the defense of Ukrainian airspace.

Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, has expressed his gratitude to all of the soldiers who participated in the defense of Ukrainian airspace and has once again praised the combat performance of the mobile fire groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The majority of the destroyed Shahed drones were shot down by these mobile fire groups.
