Ukraine's Achilles 429th Regiment continues to demonstrate precision and effectiveness on the battlefield, systematically targeting and destroying russian heavy equipment across multiple sectors of the front. The unit's latest report highlights another series of successful air strikes, underscoring the growing importance of Ukrainian drone warfare in countering russian artillery and air defense systems.
According to the Regiment's official statement, the Achilles operators have recently neutralized several key enemy assets, including four self-propelled artillery systems that had been used by russian forces to shell Ukrainian defensive positions. The destruction of these long-range fire platforms represents a direct hit to the enemy's ability to maintain sustained artillery pressure along the front line.

In addition to the SPGs, the unit successfully destroyed Chinese-made Type-63 multiple rocket launcher, a rare system in russia's arsenal that has occasionally appeared on the battlefield, likely transferred through North Korea. The presence of such foreign-supplied weaponry again illustrates how Moscow is increasingly forced to rely on external sources to replenish its losses in heavy armaments.
Another significant target eliminated was the Strela-10 short-range air defense system, a Soviet-era platform still widely used by russian forces to protect frontline troops and equipment from low-flying drones and aircraft. Its destruction further weakens russia's ability to shield its units from Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance and precision strikes.
The Achilles Regiment emphasized that their operations focus on the systematic destruction of russian artillery and air defense assets, a deliberate strategy aimed at reducing the intensity of enemy shelling while diminishing russia's capacity to defend against Ukraine's expanding drone fleet. This reflects a broader Ukrainian doctrine of attrition, using precision UAV strikes to degrade high-value targets and gradually shift the tactical balance on the battlefield.
As Defense Express previously reported, Ukraine's Defense Intelligence has revealed a detailed three-dimensional model of russia's Orion unmanned aerial vehicle, along with information identifying 43 enterprises involved in its production. The data were published in the War & Sanctions portal, as part of the ongoing effort to trace and disrupt russia's military-industrial supply chains.
