In a recent frontline engagement, Ukrainian forces successfully destroyed russian BM-27 Uragan multiple launch rocket system using American-made M142 HIMARS precision artillery system.
The strike was coordinated through the efforts of the Chornyi Lis Brigade’s reconnaissance drone, which identified the target and relayed its coordinates to the artillery unit. Despite the GMLRS guided missile landing a few meters away from the Uragan system, shrapnel caused the vehicle’s ammunition to detonate, completely destroying the system.

This incident highlights the technological edge of the HIMARS platform over its Soviet-era counterparts like the Grad and Uragan systems. American system is known for its high precision, mobility, and rapid reload capability, making it ideal for striking both stationary and mobile targets with minimal ammunition expenditure.
As Defense Express previously reported, the Magura 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade delivered a critical blow to russia’s 155th Separate Guards Naval Infantry Brigade’s workshop, a facility humorously dubbed the enemy’s “talent garage”.
During a scouting mission using their Fly Eye 3.0 drone, the Magura operatives identified the workshop where marines were desperately welding extra armor onto their aging APCs.
