Roshel Senator RAM MRAPs are well-suited for the Haitian army, whose main mission is to fight gangs and uphold order in the country

Canadian Roshel Senator armored vehicles gained popularity thanks to their use during the russian-Ukrainian war. It is not surprising that new operators continue to appear, and the Haitian army is now among them.

Recently, a ceremony was held to receive the new equipment, with 17 units ordered in total. However, this appears to be the Senator RAM MRAP variant, which has only recently been unveiled.

It is stated that the new vehicles are to provide protection and mobility for the military. In addition to transport options, the purchase of a combat module has also been mentioned, though the specific turrets and other equipment to be installed are not yet specified.

MRAP armored vehicles are a good choice for Haiti, where various armed groups and a large number of gangs pose a major threat. This means that they will mainly be used during police operations.

Such vehicles are used by the Ukrainian military during full-scale warfare, where they have demonstrated good survivability, especially against mines. However, they are ideal for patrol, counterterrorism, and security operations.

Since sending the first samples of equipment to Ukraine, Roshel has been actively working to improve its products based on the experience gained. As a result, newer models offer better protection, addressing the shortcomings of previous variants.

The chassis, as mentioned earlier, is now based on the Ram 5500 rather than the old Ford 550. In addition, the vehicle has received some design updates, including extra doors.

It should be noted that Haiti also employs other models, such as the Roshel Senator and Senator MRAP, obtained on lease from the International Security Assistance Force. However, these are the only armored vehicles in the country's arsenal, so each unit is of considerable importance.
